How pet health plans work

A pet health plan is a recurring subscription for specified veterinary services, usually preventive care. We currently track 17 published plans. The plan pays for the published list at a named practice or group. It is not pet insurance and does not underwrite unexpected illness or injury.

Insurance is a regulated product designed mainly for eligible unexpected treatment. Routine vaccinations and parasite care are usually excluded from insurance and included, where published, on a health plan. Compare the two products on that distinction, not on brand names.
